It also could be a descending right angle triangle if you ignore the noise (spike) created on the front end of the triangle. This approach, I don't believe, goes against the general rules of TA. If so, it points down. BWDIK!

So, the symmetrical triangle could mean consolidation or reversal and could turn into an ascending triangle triangle which is bullish.

Did you leave anything else out ?? (VBG)
