Ben,

WOW, thats a good link! If that isn't clear evidence of how unethical Microsoft is willing to be in trying to manipulate their way to a dominant position I don't know what is. Now I hope enough people read and distribute this LA Times article. After reading this MSFT media plot, readers would have no choice but to take all the computer industry testimonials and positive MSFT "Letters to the Editor" with a block of salt! Even if I were legitimately wanting to post a testimonial or positive "letter to the Editor" for MSFT, I wouldn't because I would be perceived as being part of MSFT's covert media campaign.

This also plays into what I have been saying that the Wolves are circling all around MSFT and the pack is getting bigger. With this article, just add another wolf to the pack.

MSFT (being as ultra-paranoid as they already are) is showing its true colours regarding how worried they really are in trying to shake these wolves off their back. In their attempts to shake them, they simply add more wolves. MSFT is clearly not good at being in a defensive position.

I tell you this much, if I were a MSFT investor, this article sure would make me very nervous about continuing to be one. Why? This scenario / cycle that MSFT is going through is very similar to a lot of other industry leaders with almost untouchable dominance. That is that when a company has reached the top pedestal in their industry, it will naturally be knocked off it. MSFT's hot-headed, knee-jerk, and paranoid senior execs only speed up the process of the downfall.

I know I might get a lot of disagreement on this prediction but I will predict it anyways...

Five years from now ppl in the business world and the computer industry will look back at this time as the beginning of MSFT's downfall from its almost untouchable monopoly to just another large computer industry player. The majority of these monopolistic positions that MSFT current holds in the industry will be torn apart. Business colleges will use MSFT's past, current, and future actions as a case study on how to build, maintain, and destroy an monopolistic position in an industry.

(I am putting this posting away and will pull it out in five years)

Thanks again Ben for the great link!
