In that time VVUS has gone from $10 to $10 and back and still no short squeeze! What do you think happens? Well just like the longs who sell out at the highs and re buys it back in the lows, the shorts cover in the lows and reshorts in the highs. It all has to do with WHAT YOU BELIVE! Manipulated short squeezes like in ZITL/IOM etc only happens for very short period of time and the price comes back down just as fast. But VVUS is worth more than 10 so it is a buy here.

Vlad and All.... The old plant produced and sold 1.8 mill units in 1st qtr....the production line that was moved in the 4th qtr 97 to the new plant was replaced later. The main reason that they pulled one of the three lines from the old plant to the new was to avoid any issues related to new equiptment and staff to get MCA and FDA approval in the new plant. Also to clarify earlier post........VVUS does NOT see a need to raise additional capital. They can use existing cash and cash flow...this question was raised in yesterdays con call ...by the analyst from Prudential Secuities...Another key point that surfaced in yesterdays conf call is that the UK sales numbers provided thru Astra by Walsh Co/now part of IMS show VVUS has captured 27% of the ED market in the UK in the lst 4 1/2 weeks. Now factor in the led times...UK approval in Dec 97 ...but they are just 4 1/2 weeks into sales stats. Argentina, Brazil, South Korea, Switzerland just approved....I'd expect to see the benifits of these countries in 3rd qtr 98. Unitd urope expected late 4qtr ealy 1st qtr 99...plant in Ireland moving ahead as planned...additional mgt staff announced to key positions. Questions as to when China, Mexico, Canada, etc wil be approved can not be answered by VVUS mgt...they are dependent on the approiate govt approvals in each country. VVUS mgt has cofidence in the value of this company as demonstrated in the stock buyback in 97 and early 98...2mill sares total 1.63 during the first qtr 98......we all wish we ha 20/20 hindsite and bought at the lwest price ourselves... I for one was pleased to here their plan to concentrate on spending adv budget dollars on educating Dr's on benifits of Muse over Viagra and details of where Muse was more approiate...ramp up of the contract sales force was expected early on and several key personnel are inplace already....education of contract sales force starts next week.. Let Pfe spend the big $$$ on binging the paients into the Dr's offices. 3rd/4th qtr 98 looks very good .....look to 1999 eps concensus $2.91 on Zacks........This board seems to be pre-occupied by daytraders comments....Long term view and mgt's stock buyback will payoff in 1999 and beyond.....
