Garnet your property crisis true in part has been caused by Asia is there was great speculation going on in Vancouver and the Island Pan American Games etc which probably contributed... I looked at property on the Island in Sidney i saw house in Dean Park asking 190 and the following year it was at over 300 C$ it continued up for quite a bit exactly like we did in LA. We are rebounding now so will you.
I am getting consensus next year it will be start to rev up. Can now at least purchase a house for around three fifty Vancouver area that is good as it gives hope for a home tho in my mind it is still high with your dollar.

Your taxation is horrible but your utilities insurance overall necessities excluding food clothing are lower than ours i feel.

There if you make a couple of hundred thousand you get taxed harder to work around both business and private wise. Here you can play abit especially in property with two hundred thousand deduction now passive investor etc however Here these laws are most beneficial for those who have not those that are working their Butts off just to make it pay to heavy here too. So i think of the two your system is more humane tho it does lack the the corporate incentives ours has. Maybe that is what makes those that stay in Canada such wonderful people.

Please don't apologize 4 Ur candor, Garnet2. If I truly didn't want t'know, I wouldn't have asked! I've only known 3 Canadians in my life, and 2 of them talked about taxes and sought "financial refuge" here in the US. We feel taxed down here, but until we listen one on one to each other, I don't think we will ever understand the cultural and financial differences and appreciate our similarities.

Sorry I didn't pick up on the sarcasm...it's hard to do sarcasm on the net, eh?

Do write again. I like learning.
