Wes: I agree with you 100%. While internet has provided the best means for the exercise of the first amendment it does have some drawbacks. However you underestimate the intelligence of the readers on sites such as SI. No one (and let me be specific on this no one) would base his investment decision strictly based on the postings on a site such as SI; And if they do, well, then they deserve to receive the outcome of their investment decision (whatever that maybe). To me people who participate on internet are similar to drivers on highways and city streets (and this includes practically all of us). We sit in our cars and drive around with sometimes absolutely having no regards to the next driver or others in general. How many times we all have tailed another car on the highway, or have displayed (as well as receiving) an obsene gesture from another dirver, or going over the speed limit, or... You see it is much easier to do and to say things when you do not have to deal in person. Cyber space is sort of like highways and streets on which we all drive (and no wonder they call it information super highway). Everyone can say or do as they wish. The difference is on regular highways you have rules and laws being implemented by the police department, while on Information super highways there are no laws and/or rules that any particular agency can enforce! However do not underestimate the intelligence of those who drive on the information super highways, they can easily distinguish the truth from mallice for which information super highway is not a one way, or two way or for that matter a 3 way road. One can easily travel in any direction he/she wants to and obtain any information he/she wants to obtain. Regards, Addi Jamshidi
