Micrex Development Corp. - Chinchaga River-Clear Hills exploration expanded Micrex Development Corporation MIX Shares issued 10721224 1998-04-07 close $0.56 Wednesday Apr 8 1998 Mr Perry Meszaros reports, Micrex Development Corp reports on expanded exploration activities in the Chinchaga River - Clear Hills diamond project. The Marum/CaribGold drilling (Press Release April 6 1996) on permits bordering the Micrex/Marum joint venture permits has given strong indications of a nearby volcanic pipe event as indicated by the occurrence of multiple, thick pyroclastic (volcanic) ash horizons intersected in drill holes. In addition drilling yielded intersects of what is described prior to analysis as "several green sand units" and an impenetrable bedrock layer (to the auger) in two closely spaced holes. With the understanding that this volcanic event or events could be widespread and with the evidence of cluster anomalies throughout the area Micrex, Marum, and CaribGold have initiated more detailed exploration. Upon receipt of the preliminary drill results, a high resolution, 200m line spaced, fixed-wing, Spectra Geoscience airborne magnetic survey was immediately authorized to further define the drilled targets as well as other targets in nearby clusters. This 7,000 line km survey is a cooperative effort between Marum, CaribGold Resources and Micrex Development Corp. The survey area covers six townships of the Marum/CaribGold joint venture and 5.5 townships covering a combination of 100% Marum land and Marum/Micrex joint venture land. The flying portion of the survey is expected to be finished within the week. Additional fieldwork on the Marum/Caribgold joint venture will begin as soon as the core analysis results are evaluated and the airborne geophysical survey results are reviewed. This work will include sampling, auger drilling and rotary core drilling. Fieldwork, including possible drilling on certain 100% Marum lands and a portion of the Marum/Micrex joint venture lands which are adjacent to all-weather roads, will begin immediately upon receipt of the airborne geophysical survey results.
