Alex,

Thanks for the info. Let me see if I can condense it into a couple of sentences to see if I understand everything.

Microsoft makes the software that uses the Netstream card. Compaq makes sure that the card works with the software and everything else on it's computers. So basically all of these companies get together and pitch to big clients one by one? I don't see how Sigma can miss a sale if all of these companies are on our side...

I hope that the company can get some serious financing to ramp up this product and the Hollyood card if need be. Seems like we could use some cash infusions by one of these partners. Why doesn't Microsoft just scoop us up with their spare cash?

Thanks again for the info.

Grant

Hey all,

Check this little news item I got from a CBS Marketwatch daily news item called Internet Daily.

** DVD rentals on Net

NetFlix Inc. (www.netflix.com) says it's open for business to rent Digital Video Disks through the Web. Claiming more than 900 titles in stock, the company rents DVDs weekly for $4 plus shipping. NetFlix's management team is led by President and CEO Marc Randolph, who was one of the founders of PC mail order company MicroWarehouse and more recently served as vice president of direct marketing at software developer Borland International.

I don't know if NetFlix will make any money, but it sure looks like the DVD market is starting to kick in. Nice to see that there are more than 900 titles in stock.

Alex,

It looks like you and I are the few with faith in SIGM. Surprising for such a big move over the last few days. I'd like to see some more upward movement for the next two days. Over 5 or 6 would be nice, eh?

I saw a Sony DVD sign/advertisement on a basketball game. One of those billboards encircling the court. Gotta like seeing that. I was at best buy the other day getting a walkman and the only DVD-upgrade kit they had were the Creative Labs kit. Seems like that company has the lowest priced deal around. The sales rep said that until the suppliers (Sony, Phillips) get their act together, Best Buy will stock their products. Wonder what he meant by that...

See ya,

Grant

Alex,

I recently bought a book called "The Gorilla Game" by Geoffrey Moore. Fascinating book about the intracacies of tech stocks. Anyways, the book discusses a plan to buy stocks of companies that are fighting to be the "standard" with proprietary products in high growth industries. After the company becomes the standard, many other high-tech companies join the bandwagon and form partnerships with the company to establish a whole value chain of products around the standard.

I know that I already asked you about this, but I thought I'd bring it up again. SIGM may be establishing such a standard right now with the Netstream product. Many of the other computer companies are developing software with the Netstream product. If the Netstream product is able to keep this competitive advantage, sales will start really ringing in. Do you know anything about market size predictions for this product in the next couple of years? Could be interesting.

Hey all,

Another news item.

biz.yahoo.com

It seems that the Netstream is the only driver out there for streaming video for intranets. Partnering with Microsoft and Cisco as well as others.

Partnering with companies is where it's at in high-tech. If SIGM can get its Netstream card established as the standard for the streaming video infrastructure, SIGM will have more revenues than it can handle.

Wishful thinking maybe, but I like my risk/reward at these prices.
