I've been watching SESI. I like PKD, too. But I haven't
actually bought either yet.

Hi Gary,

I will take a look at SEMI, TMAR, and PKD to get some CC dialog going again. If anyone has any comments please join in!

By the way, has anyone checked out ROST recently. That stock has done exceptionally well over the past year. It's over the split price of last year. That was this forum's first case study.

Hi Gary and Everyone!

Happy Easter to all! TMAR looks very interesting and is selling cheap. Here are some stats:

Trico Marine provides marine support services to the oil and gas
industry, primarily in the Gulf of Mexico, the North Sea and Brazil.
The services provided by the Company's diversified fleet of vessels
include the marine transportation of drilling materials, supplies and
crews and support for the construction, installation, and maintenance
and removal of offshore facilities.

NASDAQ: (TMAR : $20 3/16) $244 million Market Cap at April 9, 1998 Trades at a 48% Discount PE Multiple of 7.2 X, vs. the 13.9 X average multiple at which the Drilling & Marine Supply SubIndustry is priced.

The fair price for TMAR should be $2.65 (low EPS) x 13.9 avg. Industry P/E = $36.84.

On the news front? The sinking of one of their boats may be viewed as a potential problem from a lawsuit or damages point of view. Otherwise, the company seems to be profitable.

Charts look good from a technical standpoint. The bottom has been reached for this stock. I ran a few analysis at stockwizard.com and the Barnes Indicator came out with a buy signal.

Does anyone here write calls on PTEC? I own some AWRD and have been hoping and hoping that eventually they'll trade options on it. It hasn't happened yet, but, today they announced a merger with PTEC and Award shareholders will get 1.225 shares of PTEC for each share of AWRD. PTEC has options! I'm back in the game!

I looked at the option quote page and wasn't too impressed, but, I'm curious if it's just flat lately or if the low premiums are typical of the stock. If that's the case, I'll sell my now higher priced AWRD and move on to something else.

By the way, the merger announcement didn't occur during trading yesterday, but, AWRD managed to climb a full point on heavy volume. It always makes me angry at how much information is able to fall into the hands of everyone but the small investor. Things have gotten a lot better over the past few years, but, cases like this just prove we've still got a long way to go.

Good luck,
Gary
