The minister is being kept sedated and is still receiving anti-infection and anti-inflammatory treatment.

Sounds to me like ARDS, or acute respiratory distress syndrome.
We treat that with high dose steroids (anti-inflammatory) and also
antibiotics to treat the infection. ARDS is very serious, and if
this is the case, his situation is grave. If he's in the ICU, it means
he's been intubated (placed on a breathing machine). Severe
bacterial pneumonias can cause this, but I wonder about parasitic
infections and fungi, given the prolonged course and difficult
cure.

That's my doctor's view, but what does this really mean for our
investment? Any view as to the consequences of his death,
should it occur? I'm not all that impressed at the consequences
myself.

Re: the street.com article, it seems Telebras is most vulnerable
in the cellular arena - it appears there is a head start given to
the non-Telebras player, and Telebras doesn't have as much
of a lead in terms of infrastructure. In the fixed line arena, Telebras is
in a position of strength in that it owns infrastructure that is already in lace and has been getting upgraded the last 4-5 years.

This investment just keeps getting more and more interesting.
