SC, since we are already seeking answers to some very pertinent questions you posed, I wonder if anyone on the thread knows what are the light flux required for effective treatment, is there a saturation point? And how is the light dose controlled right now (fixed flux multiplied by exposure time?)

Thank you very much. This is the kind of info I am looking for on internet (with regards with investment and science).
Basically you are saying that phototherapy is used with a LOW energy laser, compared to traditional laser therapy without phototherapy, which is basically more destructive because using light with higher energy. There will still be inflammation, though, because necrotic cells release lots of inflammatory mediators which should still attract neutrophils and macrophages in the area of necrosis, but in smaller numbers than if fibroblasts, retinal epithelium and co are also destroyed (with traditional laser light). You are absolutely right.
