Hawkeye: " I can't believe Ford would put out TV advertisements (costing tens of thousands of dollars) touting their support for Ballard even BEFORE they finalized the documentation," Thanks for making one of my points for me. That advertising is intended to make people feel real good about Ford, about how much concern it has for the environment. Ford wants to seem warm and fuzzy so you'll buy one of their 16 mpg Explorers without feeling guilty. If Ford sells enough extra Explorers, then it will have gotten its money's worth out of its Ballard investment, whether or not it ever produces a car using that technology.
