Elsewhere, the pearly chrome glint of the adiamantine armor reflected the glow of light from the crystal, sometime sharply refracting it, sometimes causing it to gleam.
A clear area had been left where the old Moot had been pushed aside and several gashes attested to the usefulness of same for firewood. The attack, which was still on everyone's mind was clearly threatening. Certain things would be clearer if the attacks resumed but the onset of the attacks had been from a specific direction. Rather lopsided, things had progressed quickly and had been alarmingly effective. The lopsided nature was slowly becoming clearer in retrospect.
In the aftermath of the first attack many fled, yelling loudly, prey for lurking predators. As an uneasy peace returned many did also, as they looked they saw that the damage had not been their fault. It was clear where you didn't want to stand. For those who looked and saw plain old horse sense it was simple math.
