Sounds like the Christian thing to do.
I'm in.
I'll state my beliefs later, without copying some creed statement.
Have a sensational day, my friend.

B.

P.S. For a starter, I believe in ice cream, piled with fresh strawberries, and onion sandwiches are out of this world! <gg>

Mark, my post to Jane was in no way intended to be snide, or sarcastic.

Pliney the Younger is the name of the Roman governor who persecuted the Christians, it was an effort to help facilitate her search for information. On second thought, Jane probably already knew that.

Mark, I hardly ever post to this thread anymore and in view of all the negative posts on this thread lately, I find it really strange that you should chastise me about an innocent little post that was meant to be helpful.

Your idea has merit, but why only a day? Good luck with it, because of the nature of this thread and its participants, its probably doomed to failure.

Regards
Carol

Mark,

OK, since I am going to leave town soon today I will do mine now..

I believe that chocolate is about the best food God ever let man invent. (Although I was never privileged to eat manna that the Israelites ate in the wilderness)

I believe that there is nothing finer than when children trust you enough to sit in your lap.....for hours.I believe that you can talk to kids without talking down to them, and I also believe that they will take up much more of a challenge if allowed to do so.

I believe that I love my parents. My mother who laid on her back for nine months so that she would not have to abort me. Who did without some of the finer things in life to be a housewife and mother, fulltime. My dad who taught me how to deal honestly with men, who taught me that if you could work with your hands you would never go hungry. Who also knew that I was a hardheaded kid and did not pass up an opportunity to let me dig a pretty deep hole and learn a few lessons before he came to the rescue.

I believe in my wife because there is no one else that can take care of me as she does. Who gave up many of her dreams to make mine reality. Who actually looks forward to taking care of my needs as I get weaker. Who exemplifies the words of Proverbs 31:10-31.

I believe in God. I believe He is the I AM. I believe the Word. And that the Word became flesh, lived among man to show the nature of a God Who desires us, and died as a Holy Sacrifice that I could never present myself. I believe He could have called legions of angels down from heaven and stopped the whole ordeal, and went back to live with the Father. But He instead humbled Himself to death on a cross. I also believe that He was raised to conquer death, the only thing satan thought he had over us. I believe that blood covering is what presents me to the Father as holy. When God looks at me, He sees Jesus, not because of my works, but because of Jesus the Christ's perfecting work.I believe it when Jesus said that when He went to the Father He would send the Comforter, or Holy Spirit to live in me.As I found out what God has done for me, it led me to believe in Him which led to repentance of my sin, and that I was baptized in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit that I might recieve the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Although I do assemble with the saints of the Church, I do not believe that I "go" to church; I believe that I am part of the Church. I believe the Acts of the Apostles and the letters give us a good idea of how the early Church functioned.I believe there are times of corporate worship just as there are times of private worship, and one is just as important as the other. I believe the Church has to be both salt and light.

I believe that I am only seen as righteous by the Father due to His Sons Blood!! I also know that because of that, I have the urge called LOVE in me to share it, live it, work it, be it. I also believe that I fail often, and lean on the God of the Towel to hold me up. (Remember Jesus washing feet?)

Could say much more, but this is enough. (Romans 5:1-2) "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith,we have peace with God THROUGH our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.

God Bless,
dcf

+ I believe in the LORD JESUS CHRIST.
+ I believe the Bible from Genesis 1:11 through Revelation 22:21.
+ I believe the Bible to be "God-breathed" as mentioned in Timothy.
+ I believe it takes faith to believe: "In the beginning God created..."
+ I believe it takes more faith to believe: "In the beginning there was a big blob of unintelligent protoplasm" and I don't subscribe to that belief system.
+ I believe that God "is not willing that any should perish, and that all should come to repentance."
+ I believe "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
+ I believe that "without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin."
+ I believe that all religious systems are man's attempt to find God---man is doing the seeking in these religious systems
+ I believe that Christianity is the reversal of religious systems, from Genesis through Revelation we see God is a pursuing God---He is doing the seeking and mankind is running from him.
+ I believe Jesus when he said: "Marvel not that I say unto you, you must be born again."
+ I believe since I have been born again, my wife got a new husband, my kids a new father. Our marriage was on the rocks and we would never have made it otherwise---why? "If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away, behold all have become new."
+ I believe that to call Jesus just a "good man" is closing our eyes to the power of the resurrection. All other so-called prophets and leaders have graves that mark the existence of their remains---not so with Jesus---tomorrow, millions will celebrate Easter with the "He is risen" message.

God bless you.

I have shared the scripture above from memory, so if a word is left out or added, that makes me guilty.

B.

Mark:

It is a simple idea, and a good one that we post what we believe. Others have already posted great descriptions of what I believe (descriptions of the Christian faith) so I will not try to recreate what they have done so well. Let me just add:

Hallelujah! He is Risen!

Happy Easter to all. May everyone truly come to know that He is alive even today and forevermore!

In Christ, Tom
