Dear Jane : I have so often wondered about the fraternity scene in college and the Greek experience; if it is of God or the devil or somewhere in between. I have seen some incredibly devilish things there and some incredibly Christ like occurences. I Peter 2:17 " Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king." We had a Chaplin and would pray every once in a while. I have been back to alumni weekend and before the banquet would start I was asked to give blessings over the food. We bowed our heads in silent prayer over a deceased brother. The overall experience of day to day life is one of extreme loyalty to brotherhood. Differences had to be worked out and the brotherhood was what mattered; against any and all outside influences. One night a bunch of guys jumped us for talking to some girls they knew; I just so happened to get the best of the guy that jumped me but after getting out of the emergency room to get some stitches put in his head he came by my duplex to get me back. I wasn't home but two of my frat brothers were there; when they asked the guy why he wanted me and he told them ! One of my brothers ( incidentally Tom , the one that still isn't saved ) hit the guy so hard he knocked him off my front porch and the guy had to go back to the hospital for more stitches. I guess the point is that frat life is all about brotherhood. Maybe that is why later on in life God will seek out so many ex frat guys. I know George Bush and many ex presidents were "Greek". My way of thinking Clinton would not have made it through "hell week"; only a wimp would treat women with so little respect, and the brotherhood of mankind with such disdain; in that he is not man enough to speak up and confront the truth / my lack of respect for the man centers around the fact that he lies to himself--forget about lying to the American People I don't have to get up every morning and look in the mirror and see HIM.. Hope I don't offend anyone's politics; it's just that I resent having to explain to my 7 year old daughter why the President of the United States is being investigated by a special prosecutor.
