Perchance,

To go along with what Bbruin (go Red Wings by the way) & Juan said, I always always always look at the float before buying.

In the most simplest terms of supply and demand:

It is a lot easier to move a stock with 3M shares in the float vs. 13M. (laws of supply & demand)
Also when/if a stock like JAWW/Z/S gets widespread attention you want to be the one owning one of only 3M shares trades out there in the float.

The question here is since there is nothing in the way of revenue or customers, how much attention will the contest bring to Jaws & will the general public buy it on its "potential".

Also another good thing about low floats is even if you have a 3M float, generally with good companies you can stick anywhere from 20-50%^ of that float in "strong hands", meaning people who are in the stock for a long haul so while yes those shares are in the "float" they arent actively traded so your float de facto becomes even lower.

For quick moves a smaller float is very imporant. But of course, a bad company with 1.5M float isnt very appealing either.

Slow News Day,
Mark
