Bruce, My read on Thursday's tape showed the same thing: that the short seller was gone about mid afternoon. I had based my conclusion on the fact that the excess of trades at the ask (many of which have been due to short selling and not buys for about the past 1 1/2 weeks)dried up at about this time and suddenly buying pressure in the form of just a small number of extra buys/sells resulted in Northward price movement as would be expected. This short selling experience has been quite an education for me and one I don't intend to soon forget. Now however I think is the time to make sure that the short sellers don't soon forget the education they are IMO about to get. (G) Thanks for posting your facts and speculation concerning the WP deal and the possible behind the scenes reasons for the activities of the parties involved. Assuming your assumptions are on target ( And I also subscribe to your speculations) I am very glad that DCI caught the inconsistencies with regard to WP and that we did not bring them aboard.
