"Sector analysis

Recently, we received many questions from our clients about our
attractive ranking for semiconductors. We believe the group has been in, and will continue to go through, its spring to summer correction. Normally the group corrects about 25 percent to 35 percent every year due to a peak in seasonal strength. By the fall, however, we expect a rebound. We continue to recommend using any stock price declines as a buying opportunity since, at current prices, the group's relative outperformance potential is 80 percent.

In order for us to rank an industry as attractive, two criteria must be met. First, our outlook for the industry's earnings growth must be better than that for the S&P 500 and second, the group's relative P/E must be below its normal range. This month we have five industry upgrades and one downgrade. Please note the underlined stocks are our favorites in the industries.

The upgrades to attractive are: household furnishings (Maytag Corp.
(MYG), Whirlpool Corp. (WHR)), and leisure time products (Brunswick
Corp. (BC), Hasbro Inc. (HAS), and Mattel Inc. (MAT).

The upgrades to neutral are: electrical equipment (AMP Inc. (AMP),
Emerson Electric (EMR), General Electric (GE) General Signal (GSX),
Honeywell (HON), Raychem Corp. (RYC), Rockwell Int'l (ROK), and
Thomas & Betts (TNB)), hardware and tools (Black & Decker Corp.
(BDK) and Stanley Works (SWK)), and health care - hospital
management (Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corp. (COL) and Tenet
Healthcare Corp. (THC)).

Downgraded to neutral is: Retail foods (Albertson's (ABS), American
Stores (ASC), Giant Food (GFS.A), Great A&P (GAP), Kroger Co.
(KR), and Winn-Dixie (WIN))."

Jim,

My plan is a simple one, I am just going to start acquiring MAY PUTS, starting MONDAY. I will probably go with the DJX for now. If it goes up, just will get more to average my position, since I feel very strongly that it will not go up much more prior to MAY expiration.
