> It is my guess that the programmers that were cut were mostly Unix programmers. They are pissed that NETA didn't take the time to retrain them from Unix to NT. I am guessing NETA is moving to fast on the acquisition trail to retrain them. It would be easier to hire those already trained in NT.

No, they would not retrain engineers. Training engineers costs money, something Billy Boy would not like to spend money on. I was never formally trained on Win 95 or NT when I was there. (I was a NetWare expert at the time.) I ran out and bought a book (out of my own pocket!), read the book enough to get the genaral idea of what the system does, then used the book as a reference when I need guidance and my intuition has ran out of options. It's essentially how I survived as long as I have at this company. (1 and 1/4 years, if you are curious....Actually, I could have stay there at least another 3 months, but I had a MUCH better job offer.)

It makes sense, in a way, if you want to make the numbers, to do what it takes.

Cheers,
Joanna
