My Gaelic is always Politically Correct. I'm not Fuzzy Zoeller fer Chrissakes, but I like Zoeller. Golf is like stocks or cards. If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen. In competition, frail egos do not have a measurable half life. The problem with your friends is that they have not expected a serious downdraft. Such a downdraft, if it occurs, will change the order of thinking. Ask them, if the market were to dive to where there investments were losses, how confident would they be about the market wanting to go up. Evidently, these people have cast off their experience (in Florida) about the '30s. If the market comes back down hard you'll catch a bit of that fright, no question. The blue-haired crowd in my family is under control, as I have Power of Attorney. So they are okay. But a lot of people would panic I would think, in a serious drop.
