Um..Jane, excuse me? But you were the one that implied that someone was a "grass-smoking hippie" because they simply stated a belief that was different from your own. I am a very tolerant person when it comes to beliefs. My father always told be "You don't have to be disagreeable to disagree." I have tried to guide my life by that. I would never claim to have been enlightened as you have, nor claim to come from whatever world it is you did come from. (Not trying to slam, just referring to a previous post) Those are YOUR experiences. All I can offer is what I have gained through my own experiences. I was raised in the Eastern Orthodox Church, which is, I believe, the oldest form of Christianity. We were taught to believe that one's spiritual relationship with God was a very personal thing, and not necessarily something that needed to be shouted from the rafters. There are many aspects of my chosen religion which I do not necessarily believe "fit" into modern society, however, that is the dilema we as human beings face on a daily basis. Do we want to follow our faith and be true to it, or do we want to take the easy way out? It doesn't matter if you are Jewish, Christian, Catholic or Protestant, Hindu, Buddhist, whatever. We ALL face that dilema. I have friends of many faiths, and to me it is fascinating to listen to the differences and learn from each other. Sorry...I thought the intent of this thread was to learn from each other, not to flame someone for posting a different point of view. Maybe its me, and maybe the "grass-smoking hippie" thing was really a compliment. Now weren't you supposed to go eat a chicken or something? Binder
