Hi I2 few things in Japan will help US economy-
1- The higher consumer spending will lead to increased demand- it is for this reason US and others have been urging Japan to cut Taxes and that has been recently delivered a 4 trillion Yen tax cut will put more in consumers pocket.

2- The Japanese ailing banking system is on the mend. I would assume that we will have within six to nine months visible recovery- the most important criterion that of prudent and selective lending is behind present very sluggish economic growth rather it is expected that for first time in 24 years we may see a negative growth in the economy. Japanese banking stocks today are like Citicorps of 90's. Buy them when they are cheap.

3- I concur with a general believe that Japanese saving money recently being deregulated will have a positive impact on World Equity Markets. Lot of funds will flow in and who shall be the major benefactor- it has to be the companies who have a strangle hold on global product lines. Now US is in forefront of economic domination and undoubtedly will benefit from this inflow the most. Look at Soloman's- Barney and Morgan's list of top picks and performers, these companies are going to be the conduits of Japanese monies. I will suggest picking the stocks which the big guys on street like and an exposure to across the board composite. Look for volume and you will head straight for home run. In the interim if you have a correction, position your investments.

I am sure before the big money comes in we will see cheaper entry points, that is also an established rule of equity game.
