Peter,

ROTFLOL! This is the single funniest message I have read in my long history of SI.

I also wish to add my congratulations and thanks to RMan, V1, and Cyto, and all of the other thread participants on the one year anniversary. I believe I have read every message, although I post infrequently. Keep up the great work, every one of you!

Mike

P.S. How can I get a job at the FTA?

DOW JONES NEWS SERVICE

Monday April 13.

VD MODEL THREAD APPROVED BY FTA

On April 11, 1998 the VD Model Portfolio & Discusion Thread was approved as safe and efficatious by the FTA. Although the ruling was not deemed a final ruling the VD Model will continue to operate under an interim licence in an attempt to outperform the DOW and those mercenary computer stocks.

V1, a CoFounder of the fund stated " 16% in our first year sucks, its all Rmans fault for not putting us into NASI and humiliating us by having us buy that penny stock CMTR. Rman another coFounder stated," boy V1 better not give up his day job with picks like CYTO and MDYN. I mean what was he thinking. To which V1 responded, " At least I have a day job. Hey we agreed on CYTO"

Cytokine 1, the Models chief financial officer stated: " Isn't it great that our two fund managers get along so well. If those morons had any brains we would have loaded up on CLTR and INCY and bagged everything else. I told them not to buy CYTO.

Biowa, a scientific adviser to the fund stated " When the long awaited biotech revolution comes we will all be old and feeble. The good news is that by then maybe GLFD will be in clinicals with a althzeimers drug. If we are still alive GERN will have a compound in preclinicals and ISIS willhave made progress on there delivery issues. Of couse REGN will have sucked so much money out of P&G that they will be on the verge of bankruptcy. By the way I told them not to buy CYTO

Andy, the spiritual leader of the fund commented. Screw these guys. I am going to be so rich from investing in computer tech stocks that I am going to buy a personal subscription to the INCY database. I can't believe these guys bought CYTO shares at north of $5. I told them not to do it. You know you can't loose on these year 2k stocks. By the way I am going to Vegas next week. Read a book on how to clean up against the Casinos.

Psuedo Biologist, another of the funds scientific consultants comlimented the fund on not buying XOMA, but then remember that it was only because the Model was so margined that it had no buying power. Better lucky than good. Oh yeah, I also told them not to buy CYTO.

Peter Suzman, a petty official at the FTA noted that the issuance of the licence was a close call. These guys have shown that they are a potential danger to peoples retirements with picks like CYTO. Its a good thing they promised me a high paying consultant job when I leave the government. Then I too can say I told them not to buy CYTO.

----
On a more serious note, all in all it was a great year. I want to thank everyone who participated. We made some mistakes last year and I know we will do better this year. I have strong convictions about our picks and am looking for breakout year for a number of our investments. Lets start the year by taking a critical look at the portfolio. Lets start a discussion about any of the companies that you feel should be sold or our position reduced. If Rman or I can't defend it we we will sell it.

V1

Dear Commissioner Suzman (>>Federal Thread Administration<<),

I'm just glad we didn't get a non-approvable letter.

Sincerely,

League of Concerned Biotechs Appeals FTA Approval of VD's Model Thread

(WASHINGTON, DC) A spokesman for the League stated that it is well known that the VD thread is being run by scoundrels, wags and rogues. Vector1 is rumored to have insider information on virtually all emerging biotech firms. A word from Vector1 can cause a stock to crash or rally or so it is whispered.

Rocketman, who refuses to reveal his real name, is apparently a frustrated rocket scientist and is suspected of being the ringleader of a huge email-joke-spamming ring, is also considered to have insider information on biotech penny stocks. It is suspected that he may have manipulated the NAV of the VDXXX fund through the bookkeeping sleight-of-hand of the notorious Cytokine1, the financial chief underling.

The League spokesman also mentioned thread contributers biowa and squetch (where are the capital letters?) and the forever politically incorrect Andy H. Not to mention Suzman, Niman, grayfish, Pseudo Biologist, et al. What good can ever come of this?

Reagan era holdovers?? Holy cow, these are Johnson/Nixon era holdovers.

The League spokesman questioned the need for transgenic mice. Who can milk them, and who wants the milk? Yet the VD thread supports GZTC. An obvious smoking gun.

Genetic data bases? For what? We already have enough information to last a hundred years. Yet VDXXX has pumped the price of INCY to the sky.

We urge the FTA to repeal VD's Posting License. Save internet bandwith for worthy causes. Ban VD's Thread!!

The League of Concerned Biotechnolgists (can't spell it but it are we). Proud of being Luddites.
