Paul,<IBM .. Pentium II for $50 less than their just-announced K6-300 machine!> Why not to think of this fact as a market
recognition of the K6 value? :) You seem to think that
IBM has less experience in pricing strategy than you.
Oh, Paul-the-Great accountant...

BTW, what are you talking about Ali#XX, i740, etc?
Reference please.

P.S. You also seem to be inattentive to the dates of
publications. The E84 price was as of April 7, but the
announcement of PC300PL is of April 13. First,
in one week the Pentium prices can drop even more.
Too bad for Intel ASP (remember - ASP drop of $80,
and you are homeless) :) Second, the April 13 is
somehow in the future, if my watch is telling me the
truth:)

Paul , re. PII 350mhz for $50 less than K6-300
It sounds like Intel is getting desperate over the the sales figures showing K6 as outselling PII .
Considering the fact that the Mboard cost more with PII , that means that Intel's margins will be dropping below AMD's ?
That is not good for Intel's profit margins , do you think I should by some Intel puts ?
Brian

Looks like a misprint to me or the boxes don't contain the same peripherals...

Paul,

re: "IBM will be shipping a 350 MHz Pentium II for $50 less than their just-announced K6-300 machine! Sayonaro Profits, AMD!"

Don't you mean, Sayonaro Profits, Intel?
