When is the last time you picked up the phone and did not get a dial-tone?
Now ask yourself "When is the last time my PC locked up?"
Then ask yourself "When is the last time my internet connection disconnected?"
Or ask yourself "When is the last time I could not download a file because the site I wanted was down/slow?"

This dude rinde is just another suit at the top who sucks-c_ck to those who pay him by stating such FUD. Your voice infrastructure will never reside on a simple PC and will never rely on the Internet (read rely on the reliability of other peoples' services). It is highly likely that we will see the collapse of voice/data private intranetworks into a common IP routed private intranetwork.
Heck, that's happening today at the current project I'm rolling out....but it is not Internet IP. And it does not (and will never) involve a telephone handset plugging into an NT-based (or any MSFT based hack-code) device. The only shared resource is the IP transport/infrastructure. Once it hits the local site, it logically splits to a phone switch (which uses a stable hardware/OS with 0 (ZERO) downtime) or PBX.
