The price appreciation will come if and when VLSI's involvement with developing technologies becomes a reality (i.e. chips are sold in volume) and the technology becomes a hit. The set top boxes, cable modems, DVDR all have a lot of potential on their own but its' too early to tell just yet. I'm not an expert in these things and I rely on the sage's on this thread for their insightful perspective's (Thanks Tom & co.!). In the mean time, they should be able to continue to generate reasonable profits/margins and modest growth with their current ventures (phones). Just an opinion. Joe C.
