Martin,
Thank you again, that is why Yeshua said do not think I have come to bring peace, no a sword between mother and daughter etc... He knew they expected Him to be Messiah Ben David the Mighty King that would stop the Romans from slaughtering them like all the boys 2 and under.
In this statement I believe He was telling them that He was Messiah Ben Joseph the suffering Messiah that would bring salvation to the World through the suffering of Isaiah 53 and that would cause disagreements and testing to all. For many centuries the Rabbis have accepted that there would be 2 Messiahs, a suffering Messiah of Isaiah 53, Psalm 22 etc.. and a Mighty King son of David, from the Davidic covenant and Zechariah. I tell them 1 Messiah 2 comings with 2 purposes as His name said His first coming was to bring salvation. Yeshua means salvation when He returns I believe we will call Him Emmanuel(God is with us). According to Zechariah the Jews will not be disappointed He will come to them yet in the future as the Mighty King Son of David when the entire world lines up against them and they will cry out BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD (Baruch ha ba bashem Adonai).
I heard an analogy I liked this week and would like to share it with you this morning. In the summer Olympics a runner tore a hamstring ligament and fell early in the race. The other athletes passed him as they ran on to the goal. The father of the man came down out of the bleachers with tears in his eyes and carefully picked up his son and carried him on his back across the finish line and the audience went crazy with a standing applaud and loud cheers. This is like Israel to me they stumbled and fell while the Church ran on but their Father will carry them across the line Himself and the whole World will experience a joy greater than they have ever known because the love of the Father is so great for all He has created. This is my favorite day the Day of Ressurrection or First Fruits, I hope the tremendous joy of the Lord fill us all today as we celebrate His victory, Nancy
