Henry is not a good prognosticator of LGND's stock price(nor is anyone for that matter). What will move LGND up in the near future will be very positive press releases (new ones-not old news rehashed) and/or new buy rec from new brokerage houses. The long term move will be guided by FDA approval and revenue stream from those drug approvals assuming there is a healthy patient/doctor demand for the use of these drugs.

Otherwise, sit back and relax cuz LGND isn't going to be moving that much, imho.

OH, if a fund or an important individual is found to be snatching up big chunks of stock, you can bet that the price will rise. Like to see Buffet finally understand lgnd's science and buy!

john, you didn't ask my opinion but i'll give it anyway.

lgnd could make it to 50 within two years.
1. nda approval
2. successful human trials
3. additional success in licensing and sponsorships
4. all validating basic technology and approach
5. wall street recognizes potential of lgnd pipeline awarding higher multiple.

>$25 is possible within 5 months maybe as early as 3 months.

Well, since the busdriver on the 'drive to $25' appears to be lost, I wouldn't count on $25 by Sept.

What 'news' do you forsee that will put LGND over 20% higher than its current all-time high?

The better question is what can prevent Ligand from reaching $25? I think the only realistic scenario for that is that a miracle cure against cancer makes Ligands cancer medications obsolete and at the same time the non cancer parts of Ligands pipeline does not have much success.

The usual stumbling blocks for biotech companies like disappointing trial results, unexpected side effects or missed FDA approvals could delay the move to $25 but with Ligands excellent pipeline and financial position there is no danger that the company disappears into obscurity.

On the chance for approval front both Panretin and Targretin look very good. I have no doubt that the Panretin gel will be approved.

Ligand shares seem to know only two conditions. Seriously undervalued is alternating with a even more undervalued state. Im curious if Ligand shares will ever be overvalued.

Another good question with a less clear answer is wether Ligand will reach $25 early enough to make it a good investment for current shareholders?
