Yes it was impressive. But that was just the start of the proof.Read MATT.27:52-53. Now you live in the holy city your best friend died a week ago. You went to the funeral, you put him in the ground, you put the dirt on top of him.Now he shows up knocking on your front door with some good news.

Jesus death foretold in the Old Testament;

1: Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
2: For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3: He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4: Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5: But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6: All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7: He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8: He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

9: And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
10: Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
11: He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
12: Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

It clearly states he will bare the sins of many, anyone can clearly see that this was foretold in the Old Testament. Part of the reason Jesus was sacrificed was that he stated that he and the Father are one so the Rabbis sought to put him to death, are we not putting Jesus on trial again? God foretold that he would bare the sins of many.

I am not hear to prove anything only to share what I believe. The Bible is a powerful book I am not interested in other writings only the Bible. If one has an open mind and truly seeks the truth God will reveal it. You will find your thoughts will change its called a conscience, things that did not bother you before will seem to bother you when the truth is found.

Since this thread is to understand between jewish-christian beliefs I am going to jump in here and say that research will show both have their problems with accuracy. The christians say the bible is the inspired word of God. They will vow to its accuracy of historical events. Yet there is no proof in history when other great people of that time are recorded very well. The view of God in the old law was a vindictive God who favored men who took others wives, murdered people and were what we know as common criminals. God's reward for conquering a new nation was the soldiers could avail themselves of all the virgins they captured. That God was very partisan and chose the people who would be rewarded and punished based on his whims.

The new testament God is our heavenly father, kind, loving, forgiving, but still has to sacrifice his son because he created sin in some of us. Now I hate to tell people this because they tend to turn to no relation with the God of the hearts, after finding out the faults of both and how they were misled.

I will not get into arguing with anyone on this thread. I will leave that up to the well meaning people who are so brainwashed they fear to be shown wrong.

I will post www sites occasionally that will give you facts that that you can verify. Some by your own sacred scriptures. Then for those interested I will post some sites that will lead them to their own truth based on thought and knowledge, not tradition.

Site for today: infidels.org

This gives bible scriptures of many conflicts in the suposed perfect word of God. Don't tell me about it just read and see for yourself. Have your pastor or priest explain them if necessary to be satisfied they exist.

How many will dare to try to research to prove they are right?

As I said to start with I'm not an atheist nor an infidel. the web sight will lead to that conclusion but I'm a poor typist and haven't time to post it here.

I consider myself a true Christian. I know Christ the spirit and not Jesus the bible christ created by the Romans to keep people enslaved to the priesthood and government. If you check history you will find the bible written by them and forced on others by law and punishment. It followed them as they conquered on up thru Russia and Britain. Hitler was a descendant of Caesar and the annihilation was just part of the Roman-Jewish wars.

The reason for so many truths in the bible is that they were plagiarized from older books, oracles, mythology, fairy tales, and dramas.

The story of the resurrection has many conflicts. It is thought by most scholars that his followers were destroying a cabbage garden trodding back & forth to the tomb. The gardener stole the body to hide it so they stay away from his garden. I can't locate the book but there is some research in a book named, "The Crucifixion Hoax."

Truth does not object to scrutiny but welcomes it. Believe only what you reasonably say is true to you.
