Hi Ken

you will enjoy cut and paste.
(see "summery" if you can't stand reading all this!)
(its "just in case" cause I know you are busy)

think of your mouse as a seperate "memory container"
point it to the beginning of what words you would like to
duplicate/copy to somewhere else and:
[press and HOLD the "left" mouse clicker]

now as you drag the mouse across a few words, or down the
entire page, the words you want will be turning a different
colour. You can try that right here and now!

When your release the left clicker, the words you chose will
remain (in my case) blue. Does that happen on your screen?

Once you have blue (selected) words, poke the "EDIT" FUNCTION
on the top on your netscape screen. it gives you a menu.

At least "copy" will be available (because you can't remove
or put words on the silicon investor screen, but copy? Yes!)

Now press "copy" in the (netscape edit menu) and you have
"copied" the coloured words into your "mouse memory". they will
stay there doing nothing for hours.

You can now bring up an empty note pad, or one that has some
writing already on it, or some e-mail you want to finish,
or your special word processing program, or even the Silicon
Investor window to make an entry.

Having done that, the trick is to make sure the blinking cursor
is where you want the words to be placed.

Then push the right mouse button and you will get another menu.
If all is well, you will be able to push "paste" and the words
will be placed where the cursor is. (copy job complete!!)

Summery:
1) select something (dragging your pointer across it)
(left mouse button down)
(then release)
2) go to edit menu (above), select "copy"
(to erase choose "cut" but it still stays in your mouse!)
3) aim/position cursor where you want to put the words
4) Right mouse click for menu
5) choose "paste"

(sometimes word processors require you to still be pointing
right where the words are supposed to go, but with the rest,
it dosn't matter. the words go where you last put the cursor.

My favorite is to bring up note pad (push start, go to programs,
then accessories, than notepad, and select notepad.)
Then I make the note pad smaller so I can see both, or just
toggel between the two screens with the minimise button on the
upper right of the notepad screen (the minus symbol)
and then bring it up when needed from the bottom of the screen
by poking its symbol there.

once done in notepad I "SELECT ALL"
deposit it in my word processor (if i want)
for a spellcheck.
then once more "select all"
then I stick it on Silicon Investor or in an e-mail.

oh boy, did i make a long one of that!
should help in the paperwork though!
i'm afraid i'll have to move later.

oh oh. Your Marge likes the phone,
Hmmmmm.... Can you get a computer
to run with a CB??? -g-

your friend

Dave

Glad your Marge is home. Happy Easter.
(Actually this would be fun even if we only moved
once every 2 weeks!)

did match my board, though I haven't gone back to our
beginnings and reconstructed myself.
If you reconstructed when going back to the Simpsons,
perhaps my board is wrong and your Simpsons are right

can't get your N to move to your B3 with my crazy board!
(I'll try reconstruction)

Dave

Ken, here is what I figured out to be our moves
but it was confusing! I wonder if in
the pieces getting jostled you have been getting
the short end of the stick and are being kind.
(cause I have always thought you were beating
the pants off me!)
We can back up (to where any confusion is erased
from the game) and continue from there. I'm afraid
lots of it is from my inexperience in writing down
moves that could be taken two ways and such!

Below is what I got the moves from and if it felt like
this to you .....I understand!!! Would you like to
go back to a point where the confusion is removed?
(I feel guilty!) Who knows, you may have given me the
benefit of the doubt 12 or more moves back! I will beg
your mercy and for you to be the "judge" how far to go
back.
