Why not possible . Isn't it the volumn control the cost of mother board and others ?

Slot 1 motherboards are selling less expensive than some of the socket 7 motherboards already. In the meantime, Intel is pressing control on the chipset patent for socket 7 motherboards manufacturers..... they have to pick one that will make the most profit and also stay with the majority of the market.

that is funny. According to IBM site 300pl is pmmx model with the freq of upto 233MHz. :-)) it is not a pii model <ggg>

K6-300 for the same price. Not unless Intel is giving them the chips at a much reduced
price.
