Bob, I understand what you are saying, but it sounds like you didn't read any of the urls I cited in the post I wrote to Dwight yesterday. These urls deal with the misunderstandings you have about Leviticus and other Biblical statements, and are written mostly by ministers.

Dwight's mind is obviously totally closed on this issue, as is evidenced by his refusal to even look at them, but I think anyone who read these urls with any openness might begin to understand that some of the things that people believe the Bible says were distorted by the problems of translating early languages.

I might also point out that if you are going to take the Bible absolutely literally, then you should do it wholeheartedly. It seems unfair to do so only when the result is that certain people are discriminated against. Modern people have sensibly dropped a lot of rules and prohibitions written thousands of years ago in a superstitious, early tribal culture, because they make no sense at all today.
