If I wasn't wacko, you would'nt have a clue as to how sane you are.

Carol I was very sorry to read about your relative. My father quit smoking when I was adopted, but unfortunately kept on drinking and died from complications related to his alcoholism. And although he had every right to kill himself that way, I still miss him very much. I think that the biggest problem I have with smoking- or any other type of activity in which you increase your odds of dying- is that you take yourself away from the people who love you. And although everyone has to die sometime, I personally would like it to be in 60 years as opposed to 40. I want to live as long, and as healthily as possible. Does being careful guarantee me this? Of course not. But I got the odds, and as an investor I have to tell you, the odds mean a lot to me.

So far from being malicious, I think I just hate to see people dying, and I am still convinced smoking causes a lot of extra death and suffering.
