Elmer, the first time heard that Intel was sending warning signal to those motherboard makers not to infringe patent or copy rights on chipsets used for socket 7 was 2 month ago.
Last week, Intel was sending signal to those mother board makers for slot II as well.

It is my own believe that the fate of K6 is more relying on the S-7 and SS-7 motherboard. If K6 cannot get enough H/W vendors to support SS-7, it will soon isolated like Alpha.
