Pancho, - I'm guessing that the market will become enchanted with earning releases over the balance of the month. With 25% of the S&P 500 reporting earnings beginning on Monday, the market's fixation on favorite issues could wane. The soon-to-be-reported stream of earnings reports will be the first broad quantification of any adverse Asian effects on US companies, and the stock market will be keenly interested. I'll guess that the market will enter an earnings-driven phase over the balance of the month, seeking to justify it's current valuations. Sector rotation into companies and industries reporting positive surprises, could dampen a bit of the enthusiasm on some of the higher flyers. Any negative surprises could result in selling pressures and switching strategms as further sector rotation evolves. <IMO>
