Alan, I think there is much more corporate welfare than just bailouts.

My semi impression of welfare for the poor runs a tad like this;
They get their cheque, call a cab to take them to the beer store, grab a carton of smokes, and put some of the rest after a few necessities on lottery tickets. Voila, the government has almost all the money back, since the cost of beer smokes and lottery tickets are mostly taxes anyway. I know that this view is somewhat jaded but has a good amount of truth to it.

A lot of corporate welfare, eg; The "defense" industry, flows to those who usually are in a position to avoid paying any where near the taxes us mortals have to endure.
