This Barron's column isn't going to change things. This guy (or woman) doesn't know what he's talking about if he thinks Alta Vista is a challenger. First of all, Yahoo uses Alta Vista for search. Secondly Alta Vista is a search engine, and that's it.

The columnist doesn't have a clue what next year's revenues are going to be. The analysts habe been underestimating them all along, so what does this guy know?

His (or her) contention that Excite is a serious challenge to Yahoo lead is seriously debatable, and yet to be seen. Excite is quite viable, though.

Don't believe everything you read in newspapers...even Barron's.

That Barron's baloney is hugely bullish for YHOO. If I wasn't on an XCIT kick for the time being I would buy more YHOO just because Barron's predicts it's going higher.
