Good digging. Let's all remember that the Apple and Microsoft CFO's gave a little conference call on that August (literally) day and said that the one-way payments on the patents would not be material to either company. So we won't be seeing them show up on the reports as special items and we will have to assume that the reports of $100-$200 million are as much as we can expect. And that's over a period of years. This could be the kind of thing that gives Apple five million in wiggle room each quarter, however. At least, I hope so.

PS--Phil, thanks for keeping us up to date on the exchange rates. For Wednesday's report I am most interested in both non-G3 sales and sales from Japan. The Japanese pc market may be projected to grow 7% from last year but that doesn't mean it will happen--or that it will be a good first quarter. Nonetheless, the introduction of the G3 there should help quite a bit. I'm cautiously optimistic.
