I agree, as AMAT goes so does CYMER.

I would think someone like AMAT would love to have Cymer in their pocket but the price would hafto be pretty high I would think? That would put them out of the attractive view of AMAT and others? Perhaps in a year when sales could justify such price??

You must be kidding, but I'm afraid you aren't so here is a simple explanation for you. Canon and Cymer have a service agreement to make sure semi manufacturers don't experience excessive downtime. Canon is a direct customer of Cymer's. AMAT doesn't sell ONE piece of equipment that requires a Cymer laser. That's a pretty good reason not to do business with AMAT.
