Dale,100% right.I am originally from Israel. As a student in MIAMI (yrs ago)I was invited to a thanksgiving dinner by 2 palestinian students. My friends recomended that I avoide the invitation due to the postion I was holding at that time.I took a chance and went.
Needless to say it was the most enlightening "political"experience
of my life.
I've come to one conclusion--peace and uderstanding can be reached (only?)faster outside the borders of the country rather than inside the borders. The political pressure, stigmatism etc.are too much to overcome domesticly.

There is a hebrew expression (loses in the translation)which applies well to politics and shorters situation--with a little will and power, the elephant can climb on top and &%#@ the chicken.
