Well, X, at this point I am inclined to agree with you about leaving very offensive posts right where they are. I certainly would not ever go to Jill with a complaint again. However, when I felt compelled to do that, I was particularly concerned about how new people at SI would view posts and posters like that. Not knowing the characters involved, they might get wrong first impressions about people, or determine that this place was like the Wild West, and shoot 'em up like the worst offenders among us!! I don't think that really reinforces an atmosphere of civility. I do agree that the stock threads are where SI makes its money, in the sense that paying customers need to read on-subject posts quickly, for informational purposes, without being disturbed. Certainly, the terms of use should be more rigorously enforced there. You hang out with multiple whinees? You must be BAD, X!!!
