Don't forget the lime in the hair and the tattoos and fighting over the head of the boar to the death. Boadicea. A 6 foot tall 200 pound woman who used to ride standing on the yoke of the chariot kicking and punching Roman (trained, most were Celt or German) soldiers with her hands. I can't see her spending her life as a slave. But its a fact. She killed 80,000 of her own kind for fraternizing with the Romans in the north of England. I sometimes have trouble rationalizing that the IRA came from such nice ancestors. Each time we are try to put something on this board we are being asked to "submit". A man will outrun a horse or a wolf if he runs all day (the wolf covers 30 miles, the horse has to stop after 50, the man can do 75. (Ask a Tarahumara or an Apache) But I thought for sure a Silkie did the measured mile in 1 min 30, which is 40 statute miles per hour. The Celtic Chariots were light two man or one woman affairs with two or four horses in a team. They may have brought them from China when they migrated with the Jews across Asia about 6 to 5 thousand BC. A horse with armour such as the Norman (they were not French don't ask me where they came from) knights used will move only 25 miles an hour in the field. I do not know the speed of a Kangaroo. I guess about 30 mph as hunting then calls for some speed in a jeep. I know camels are reputed to be faster than horses. But bumpier. BTW Kangaroos are very honest. They went to Australia mostly for the climate and to hunt rabbits. The subsequent convict population that has flooded the island has been a great trouble for them. Some may have taken to crime as the only way to make a living among thieves. That is very sad.
