Only if you mean to say that it always went too easy on Apple. They were always afraid of offending their readership which resulted in crappy journalism.

Even if Apple had formally declared bankruptcy, they would have given space to the "dissenting opinion" and qualified the report as "of course, it could be a joke or somethin'".

Welcome to journalism, capitalist style. If you offend the readers, they cancel their subscriptions and you lose money, ergo you don't offend your readers, even if you must bend the truth in the process.
