Carol,

Exotic birds are notorious transmitters of exotic diseases to their human keepers. That is why I asked.

Iguanas, now coming into their own as popular household pets, are another common transmitter of disease to humans, notably salmonella, and people should be aware of this.

There are many hazards, environmental and otherwise, not getting the proper play due them. It may give comfort to your cousin to realize that her illness may not be self-induced or cigarette-related at all, but rather a thing of happenstance that could be neither prevented or foreseen. I certainly hope so, because from my experience, such is just as likely.

Holly

Carol,

I neglected to ask this in my previous post, but has the possibility of lung transplantation been considered?
