For Immediate Release BIV - Alberta Stock Exchange

BCB REPORTED AT RECENT ANNUAL MEETING NEW PRODUCTS COMING TO MARKET, SALES INCREASING,
STRATEGIC ALLIANCES UNDER DISCUSSION

April 17, 1998 - MARKHAM, ONTARIO - BCB Holdings Inc., at the request of the Alberta Stock Exchange, announced today it knows of no reason for the sudden strength in its common shares other than broader dissemination of information presented to shareholders at the Company's Annual and Special Meeting of Shareholders on March 25, 1998.

Ken Murton, Chairman and President of BCB stated, "Apparently there is a rumour going around that a major multinational corporation has made an offer to acquire BCB. No such offer has been made and none is anticipated."

The information provided to shareholders at the meeting last month included a report on (i) the Company's new digital hand held recorder and audio player software scheduled to be brought to market this summer, (ii) continuing growth in sales and (iii) discussions by the company with several prospective strategic alliance partners.

Murton added, "Successful completion of current discussions regarding strategic alliances should have a very positive impact on BCB." He added, as a note of caution, "While discussions are at an advanced stage with regard to one such alliance, in particular, no assurance can be given, as yet, that they will result in consummation of this transaction."

BCB Holdings Inc. owns and operates BCB Technology Group, a developer of innovative systems and services in computer-based voice processing markets, and Granville Research Inc., which designs and implements Internet-based networks. BCB means Better Communication in Business.

D. Peter Vanderlee,

I thought I had responded to your response to me re "business
plan", but I don't see it posted, so I'll try again.

Two points:

1) Of course I understand that a business plan is not for public
consumption - there's no need to get your back up nor treat all
posters to this board as ignorant neophytes. Remember, I am
definitely on your side.

2) I didn't really ask for your business plan. What I asked for, was
the anticipated cost and timing to implement the new production
system to which you referred. As such, you didn't answer my
question. I doubt that this information would fall into
the category of releasing competitive data, but it
certainly would be of interest to investors such as myself who
are just trying to get a feel for when production can match
demand and therefore hopefully the anticipation of an improved ROI.

Regards,

JJ
