Y2K: Government Response after 1/1/2000??

I haven't seen much written yet about the possible Gov't actions after we go into Y2K meltdown mode. To stimulate some discussion on this--consider the following Executive Orders:

EO 10995: Empowers the government to take over all communications media
EO 10997: Allows the government to control all electric power, petroleum, gas, fuel, and minerals
EO 10998: Gives government control of food and farm production
EO 10999, 11003, 11005: Control transportation, including private automobiles, highways, waterways, rail, airports. Government can seize any vehicle
EO 11011: Allows for seizure of health, education, and welfare functions, including hospitals, pharmaceuticals, and schools
EO 11000, 11002, 11004: Provides for registration and relocation of individuals as the government sees fit, including separation of families based on the perceived needs in dealing with a declared crisis. Provides for seizure of housing to accomodate relocated work force.

If you simply believe what I've listed above...you've flunked the course. Check it out for yourself (http://www.lib.umich.edu/libhome/Documents.center/jfkeo/exonum.htm).

These EO's have been in place for over 35 years (signed by JFK).

EO 11000 could be especially significant in light of labor shortage to fix and deal with Y2K effects.

Also, I'm not saying that these things WILL happen...but isn't it prudent to understand what authority our government has issued to itself? .... think about it!
