Dataquest says TI is No. 1 worldwide in 1997 analog revenues:

Dataquest has officially announced TI is No. 1 worldwide in
analog IC revenue for 1997, $304 million ahead of
SGS-Thomson. TI is focused on analog as part of its Digital Signal
Processing Solutions (DSPS) strategy. With its acquisition of
Silicon Systems Inc., TI became the No. 1 supplier of mixed signal
ICs in 1996, according to Dataquest.
The analog IC market gained momentum in 1997 after modest
growth in 1996. The remarkable growth of the wireless
communications market, and the continuing demand for
well-conditioned power were among the key factors contributing
to this momentum. TI, Philips Semiconductors and National
Semiconductor all grew their 1997 analog revenues by at least 30
percent, Dataquest said.
