Gersh - Re: "Do you expect Intel stock to drop hard after earnings?"

The stock performance will depend on the earnings -- and the conference call following the earnings.

Gersh,>>>Do you expect Intel stock to drop hard after earnings?<<<

Paul is probably more comfortable predicting when Merced tape out will occur rather than when share price will hit bottom.

For that I would recommend First Call for earnings estimates by 32 highly paid professional SC analysts who follow Intel.

The average prediction is for Intel to earn .72 on ~$5.1B revs.
The hi estimate is for Intel to earn .77 on $5.5B revs.
The lo estimate is .64 on ~ $4.5B revs.

If they are right, it seems they are telling their customers Intel should be selling for ~$50/$60.

Looks like a great buying opportunity - a last chance for those who are not in the market and looking for an entry point.

If at the cc after earnings announcement Intel management predict the computer revolution is over - Intel share prices will go even lower.

Good luck bottom fishing,

Mary
