Brazil power sell-off drive peaks with Eletropaulo

SAO PAULO, April 13 (Reuters) - Brazil's power sector privatization drive will peak this week with the multi-billion dollar sale of Eletropaulo (ELP.SA), Latin America's biggest electricity distributor.

''No doubt it is the most important and attractive privatization in the power sector,'' said Alexandre Borges, power sector analyst at BBM Investimentos bank.

IMF says Latam economic slowdown only temporary

(Adds projection for 1999 growth)

WASHINGTON, April 13 (Reuters) - Quick responses and good policies helped Latin America weather the Asian economic storm, but the region's growth will slow down temporarily this year, the International Monetary Fund said on Monday.

As a result of the crisis, however, Latin America will enjoy a larger share of private capital flows to emerging markets, the IMF said in its latest World Economic Outlook.
