It is not the energy production but the applications of the cold fusion IEC can perform. The neutron generator has many applications outlined in the article by New Scientist, "Neutrons for Sale."

As for future development, who knows, but just to have Daimler Benz behind these guys shows a lot confidence in their technology. More to come I am sure.
