Question for all on this thread.

I've been doing some background study on VTec and was wondering if someone could help me out here with understanding this company.

Background: Companies like VTec, E-net, etc. are small players. VTec may have a high market share in VOIP (voice over IP), but it's still a bit player in the voice business. The only way these companies are going to grow is through their 'channels' such as DT, WIN, etc. (for VTec) Right? Another powerful channel is the networking companies such as Cisco, Bay, 3Com and Cabletron. However, from what I've read, these networking companies either already have, or are on the verge of launching their own VOIP produts. And the likes of Qwest and IIXC are not far behind with similar services/products.

SO, my question is, what are the (Value Propositions) opportunities that companies such as VTec and E-Net need to have/look at to make it in this business? Or have I got the whole thing wrong?

Hi Don,

As I told you before I am expecting the second half (1998) to be much better from Vocaltec business point of view. They are participating in many carriers tenders for IP Telephony equip. and it takes time. The contracts with DT, AT&T and ECI also take time to be meaningful to the bottom line.
As of these days what prevent the stock to move is the issue of fees on Internet Telephony and insider selling:

insidertrader.com (go to free stuff and voclf)

I hope that H&Q Technology Conference and first Q results, at the end of the month, will push the price above 20.

Shlomi.
